Meet the Author

My name is Bolade Abiola. I was born in Ikole-Ekiti in Ondo state Nigeria, but the city I was born in is now part of Ekiti state. I graduated from Florida College of Health and Science as an LPN. I worked as a medical/surgical nurse at Florida Hospital before I pursued my associate degree in nursing at Inver Hills Community College in Minnesota. I worked in pediatric home care and a nursing home for many years. I wanted to learn and advance my knowledge base, so I pursued my BSN from Grand Canyon University in Arizona, in 2015. I was able to climb the ladder of leadership in nursing, from being a unit manager, to being the assistant director of nursing and quality assurance for a facility. I became the director of nursing for a skilled facility. Nursing is a career that has led me to so many places and doing things that I never thought I was capable of. I am presently working at an addiction center for substance abuse. I enjoy spending time with family and friends and traveling when I am not working.
